Baby Shawl Repaired by Local Ladies Before and After

This Shawl belongs to Anne Britten. It was made by her Grandmother and damaged when in storage by mice many years ago. It was repaired when Ladies with the needed skills were found luckily she still had a spare ball of yarn and the pattern.

Christmas Gathering 2012

As luck would have it I found my long lost password last night and can blog again just in time to post photos of our Christmas Gathering today.

It was lovely to catch up with everyone.

Gladys was making Christmas Table Runners out of a selection of traditional green, red and gold fabrics.

Sue (when not holding up table runners) was working on her polka dot Naughts and Crosses project, can't wait to see it together.

Caroline was working on an embroidered patch for her purple patchwork and embroidered quilt (just love the purple fabrics)...

Dianne was also working on an embroidery patch.  Dianne's embroidered and patchwork quilt will incorporate scraps of fabric from family and friends and previous sewing projects.

Gladys passed on some simple but effective, time and trouble saving sewing tips with everyone watching on.

and then it was time for lunch.  After a lovely luncheon, and a secret santa lucky dip, Santa made his customary appearance!

After lunch Sue demonstrated to Annie and Caroline how Annie's secret santa lucky dip suffolk puff maker works.

After such a lovely day indoors in the cool, playing with fabric and catching up with friends, it was packup and cleanup time for another year and out into the heat of the late afternoon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Ladybirds on Patrol

Bridgette finished this quilt just before Christmas, it is a Natalie Ross pattern called Ladybirds on Patrol.
It's a jelly roll background with additional fabric for side borders, binding and to applique the vine, flowers and ladybirds.
It was pretty quick to put together and looks great.

Joan

Joan came to visit during our January get together and she brought along her latest quilt - just back from the quilters!

It incorporated lots of embroidery and applique.
